Greetings and aloha! Jon Metric is an Education Navigator affiliated with Voices of Pacific Island Nations (VOPIN). With an extensive background spanning over 50 years, Jon has served as a teacher, administrator, curriculum developer, and professional development leader in various regions, including the United States, Canada, and China. His teaching experience encompasses diverse age groups, ranging from preschool to adult education.

Having predominantly worked in cross-cultural environments, Jon has gained valuable insights into the challenges faced by young individuals adapting to a culture different from their own. His expertise extends to guiding them academically, socially, emotionally, and psychologically in their new life situations. This is what has brought him to VOPIN: the opportunity to share his experience with young people from the Island Nations and help them find success.

Outside of the realm of teaching, Jon finds joy in spending time amidst nature, engaging in reading, watching movies, and playing the guitar.
