Jessi Cardona
Jessi Cadorna is currently a Secretary at the Kitsap Public Health District and recently moved to Washington state. She is really excited about the opportunity to give back to the Pacific Island Nation community here in Washington. Born and raised in Hawai‘i on the island of O‘ahu, she misses the culture from dancing hula since she was 8 years old to eating all the different cultural foods.
Jessi brings a variety of different education and work experiences. Before moving to Kitsap County, she worked as a Middle School Science and Chemistry teacher in Arizona for two years and loved watching all her students grow and learn. Developing a passion for public health and health policy, she obtained her Master in Public Health with a concentration in health policy and management from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Jessi has worked for legislators at the Hawai‘i State Legislature and the Washington State Legislature. Her combination of passion for education, policy, and her Hawai‘i roots furthers her excitement to be working with VOPIN as a board member.
