Jason Driver
Jason Driver is the Executive Director of the Kitsap Regional Library. He is responsible for 180 staff, nine library locations, a mobile services unit, and an annual budget of over 17 million dollars. Jason has worked with youth throughout his career, first as a case manager for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, then with various roles with social service agencies, City Colleges of Chicago, and the Chicago Public Library followed this.
Before his current role, he served as a District Chief at Chicago Public Library, where he was responsible for 14 libraries in the central district. Jason has been accountable for progressive leadership roles throughout his library career, which spans 25 years. He was librarian of the year in 2014 at Chicago Public Library, served on the Obama Library task force for planning a Chicago Public Library branch on the Obama Presidential Library Campus.
Born and raised in Chicago, Jason moved to Kitsap with his family in 2022 to lead the Kitsap Regional Library. A lifelong learner, Jason believes in the power of information and knowledge. He is an avid reader in his spare time and loves to hike, listen to all genres of music, play chess, and spend time with his family. Jason is invested in building community and making a maximum impact by giving back through donating his time, experience, energy, and passion to youth.
Jason received his MLIS from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana and his B.S. in Psychology from Illinois State University.
